I first made Lemon Drizzle at night school, as our chef said, let the juices flow so to speak, Jeff the Chef was an amazing inspiration to all of us, a great cook and passed quite a lot of his knowledge onto us amateurs, which I took in deeply. I loved night school and learnt how to cook many dishes over several years, meeting new friends along the way.
Over the years I`ve made Lemon Drizzle Cake hundreds of times, so when we moved to Moffat a dear friend offered her advice " Susan" she said "When your guests arrive always offer tea or coffee and a scone"
"but I can`t make scones" my reply was, "I can make a mean Lemon Drizzle though"
"Perfect she said, you won`t go wrong with homemade baking of any sort"
Her words were true and over the months guests have commented on how welcoming we are towards them, making them feel at home.
