Have you ever had FIVE minutes of FAME ???? Are you on social media, what`s the best way to keep up to date with everyday goings on? From FaceBook to LinkedIn everyone has a favourite platform they turn to. I`m a big fan of FaceBook, Instagram and LinkedIn, but there are so many the mind just boggles. What`s your favourite? During Lockdown I decided to think of something that I could do to keep myself busy and our presence visible, it`s a known fact that you can`t rely on "hope marketing" and unless you`re prepared to pay for it, you need to work hard at getting people to see and hear you. So here`s what I decided to do
FaceBook groups are great, over the months I have met some amazing people and made some great friends, watching what other people are doing, getting hints and tips from experts makes this huge world of visibility some what a bit easier. One tip was to get your story published in the paper. As we are originally from Wigan, in the Northwest. I contacted the Wigan Observer and told them about our lockdown life and how we are now open and ready for guests, many whom visit from our home town and the surrounding areas, within easy reach it`s a great place for a wee getaway and a relaxing break from your everyday life. After a quick email I was contacted by Gaynor Clarke who was super excited to publish our story, letting people know we are OPEN and looking forward to welcoming guests from all over the country, especially Wigan and the Northwest, we do get visitors from all over England, Scotland and Wales. We miss our international visitors, they are lovers of Scotland and we have certainly made a few friends over the water too. So our story was published and you can read it here in the Wigan Observer obviously I shared it in the best way possible SOCIAL MEDIA Then a few days later I was contacted by GB News who had seen my post in the paper and asked would I like to appear on the news "OMG" me on live TV, how could I refuse. So after a nervous nights sleep I appeared on the Brazier and Muroki breakfast show, there was my five minutes of fame, on national TV, live. I couldn`t believe it. But it works, hard work and social media are the best thing for your business and it`s certainly paying off now, after taking over the business 4 and half years ago I`ve grown our business from strength to strength and now I can say I`m very happy with the result.
I`m not everyone`s cup of tea and some people may laugh, some people love me but what I have achieved I AM PROUD, we love it and we love welcoming guests through our beautiful RED DOOR week in week out. We look forward to welcoming you soon. Don`t forget to BOOK DIRECT !!!!!!!!
