Moffat takes the title as the first town in Europe to be awarded as a "Dark Sky" town, having adopted special street lighting to keep light pollution to a minimum in order to preserve the wondrous starry, starry skies.
Here in Dell-Mar our Chapel Hill room and Coats Hill room have the most amazing views of the starry, starry sky.
The South West of Scotland offers some of the most amazing and spectacular views Scotland has to offer. With Moffat lying in the centre, it`s a great place to make your hub.
I`ve recently purchased John Fergusson`s book "The Motorcyclist`s Guide to Scotland" a fascinating read with great routes from the North, South, East and West, We had guests staying here with us from Belgium, Dirk and Els, who brought a copy of John`s book with them. Dirk had carefully mapped out their routes for a 3 week stay in Scotland, starting here in Moffat for 5 nights, deciding to stay here at Dell-Mar, a biker friendly guesthouse with secure parking for motorcycles and comfortable bedrooms.
Let the Juices flow from Lemons into scrumptious Lemon Drizzle Cake, when you arrive here at Dell-Mar we always offer guests a cuppa, or coffee if you prefer, with a piece of Lemon Drizzle Cake.
After 13 years in retail and over 25 years as a hairdresser I decided that the everyday run of the mill was enough, David had worked for the local council for over 33 years and hated it, so we decided to sell up, pack up and move on.

The annual Moffat Show gets underway on the last Saturday in August, It`s a yearly highlight for all agricultural farmers, with displays from cattle, sheep, poultry and even horses, there`s even a display of chainsaw carvings, but there is always something to grab your attention.
My favourite of course is the Home Industries section, here you`ll find all the homemade cakes, biscuits, jams and marmalade, but there are other exhibits that include, flowers, fruit and vegetables,
Yes it`s me Sue Barker well by marriage anyway, it`s been a delight to follow the current event this week at Moffats very own Tennis Club.
Moffat has hosted the The South of Scotland Tennis Championships here on their newly refurbished courts, and with the help of Colin Hanbidge as one of the referees, a well known coach and player on the tennis scene, its been a very successful week.
Yes I'm a great fan of cooking, and I love getting Hot and Sticky in the kitchen. Scouring the great world wide web lets me create wonderful and exciting new things.
I just love a great big fat piece of cake with JAM, especially with Mary Berry's Victoria Sponge cake, simple and easy to make, a dream come true for the sweet tooth in every fairy.
